After treatment, many people are left feeling unsatisfied and go back to their old way of living, even if they remain abstinent from drugs and alcohol. At Riviera Recovery, our goal is to help clients realize their potential and explore the other aspects of a happy and healthy sober lifestyle aside from abstinence. Proper nutrition and exercise are emphasized to help strengthen clients, both physically and mentally. After prolonged periods of abusing drugs and/or alcohol, your bodies are in a state of imbalance, which in turn affects how you feel, think, and act. Maintaining an active lifestyle (we regularly go to hot yoga, Pilates, paddle boarding, surfing, hiking, etc.) and eating healthy, organic foods and superfoods will help provide the nourishment your body needs to function at its highest potential.
Another key part of the recovery process is the camaraderie clients feel by connecting with one another, the staff, and the local sober community. We regularly offer optional house trips; we’ve been to Hawaii, Big Sur, the Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs, India, snowboarding in Mammoth, etc. For some of our clients, it’s the first time they realize how much fun they can have without using drugs or alcohol.
Access to twelve step meetings and mentors are always available to help strengthen clients’ foundations in recovery. In addition, for those who are interested, we offer an optional private house meeting once a week. Clients have access to many spiritual readings as well.
